Review on the "Time Travel" Never Shout Never Concert

Tom Higgenson

Eric Halvorsen(bass guitar, backing vocals)
from A Rocket to the Moon
On October 22nd, 2011, I went to Sayreville, New Jersey to the Starland Ballroom for the Never Shout Never Concert. There, I saw Fake Problems, Carter Hulsey, A Rocket to the Moon, The Plain White T's and of course, Never Shout Never. I have been waiting for that day since August!
I got in line for the concert at 11:00 a.m. I got to talk to Nick from A Rocket to the Moon because we were all in front of their tour bus. At 2:45, the people with VIP Passes got to go in and watch Never Shout Never do a Soundcheck. It also included a Meet & Greet but he only hugged a few people and left. After that, we had to go back out of the building and get into a VIP line. While we were waiting, we were singing, talking with people and eating pizza. At 5:00, it was time to make our way back in.

Once we got into the building, they checked out tickets and VIP passes. Then we made our way near the stage. I got to be in the front row! After about an hour of waiting, Carter Hulsey came out and sang some songs. Then Fake Problems, A Rocket to the Moon, the Plain White T's and finally, Never Shout Never! He sang a whole bunch of songs, touched some fans hands, threw out his water bottle and just had a lot of fun!
At 11:00p.m, the show was over. Thanks to the security guard, I had Eric's ( from A Rocket to the Moon) water bottle, their setlist, and the Plain White T's guitar pick. I waited in line and bought a t-shirt and a CD from Fake Problems. I met up with my friends from NJ that I met at my first NSN concert and gave them a hug. I had gotten my signed poster from the band and left to go to my hotel. It was a great way to end the perfect day!

Scotty McCreery

By: Hannah Horne-Fiducioso

"The winner of American Idol is...Scotty McCreery!" The crowd went wild. He won the 10th season of American Idol on May 25th, 2011. Scotty McCreery was born  on October 9th 1993 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Garner Magnet High School and worked as cashier and plays baseballs on his high-school team. He was part of his schools vocal ensemble that performs across the U.S. Before McCreery was selected to be on American Idol, he was apart of many singing contests and was ranked high or won them.
When he was young, he used to impersonate Elvis by singing and dancing. He started to play the guitar at 10 years old, and that payed off! Scotty stated that his favorite day of the week is Sunday because he can go to church and help his mother cook. Even though he's liking the fame, the success hasn't gone to his head compared to other winners.
His "Clear As Day" album came out October 4th. His hit songs are "The Trouble With Girls" and"Write My Number On Your Hand". In the first week, they sold 197,000 copies. Scotty is the first Idol winner to hit No. 1 with his first CD since 2003. Scotty might be famous now, but he is going back to finish his senior year and then go off to college. Scotty McCreery is doing great! He encourages everyone to try their best and follow their dreams to get where they need to go.

Christofer Drew Ingle & Never Shout Never

Christofer Drew Ingle is a singer and songwriter from Joplin, Missouri. He is the singer in his band Never Shout Never. His band consists of Caleb Dennison the lead guitarist, Nathan Ellison on the drums, Taylor MacFee who plays bass, Dustin Dubernig who plays the keyboard, and Hayden Kaiser who plays percussion. A lot of friends go on tour with him including Carter Hulsey his best friend and Lucy the tour pug.On stage, Chris is usually barefoot standing on a rug with flowers on his mic stand. He plays the uke, harmonica, guitar and plays the tambourine sometimes. He can play the drums and piano a bit.
During high school, he had a rough time. He was picked on a lot and no one would talk to him. Because of that, he would stay home and make music. He went through a hard time and his parents kicked him out when he was 16. He ended up living in his car and his friend's couches for 3 months. His friends helped him get back on his feet. But now, his family is very supportive. Disney offered him a contract, but he turned it down.
On September 20th, 2011, their new album "Time Travel" came out. It consists of 8 songs. The deluxe version has 2 songs in an acoustic version and 1 remix with Andrew Goldstein. Most people are not a big fan because they miss when it was just him and his uke. Christofer Drew is just as good as he used to be! Take a look at his music, you will be amazed!
